Batteries and Harvard Law

“And to think I’ve been telling my friends it’s so cool living with an artist. You never once asked to paint me nude!”

Welcome to another HMC Newsletter, Cinemaniacs! Ealan here wanting to give you a heads up a little earlier than usual…but for good reason! More about that in section 2. 👍

After last week’s journey through the human body with Innerspace, we tackle yet another Spielberg/Kennedy produced 80s flick *batteries not included!

While I had only remembered certain glimpses and soundbites from Innerspace, I remember almost nothing when it comes to *batteries not included. So I’m very interested to see what’s in store this week.

Having grown up in a very conservative household as a kid, the fact that I know I’ve seen this film at some point means it must be family friendly. Then again, it’s an 80s movie, so…it was a different time, that’s for sure. 😂

So join us this Tuesday May 26th at 12PM PDT/3PM EDT as Derek and I chat about this bizarre cinematic treat!

“I just don’t think that Brooke could’ve done this. Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t.”

Legally Blonde turns 25 years old! And it’s coming back to theaters for its anniversary, thanks to Fathom Entertainment!

Join us on Tuesday June 2nd for the next HMC: After the Credits episode as we go over this classic comedy from 2001. But guess what? I’ve never seen it! I told my wife this recently, and she was floored! Hadn’t everyone our age seen this popular Reese Witherspoon flick? 😅 Apparently I’m the only one.

But the reason I sent this newsletter out a few days early is this: If you would like to see Legally Blonde in the theater, it will be screening Sunday May 24th, or Wednesday May 27th. At least those were the only 2 days at my local theater. It may be different for you, so please check your local listings.

I’m actually really excited, because I will be seeing it this Sunday with my whole family. I showed my girls the trailer and – to my surprise – they said they wanted to see it, too! I could’ve sworn it was just going to be my wife and I. Stranger things have happened! 😊

So there you have it! Of course we encourage you to see movies in the theater when at all possible, so please do so! Support your local theater!

Thanks for your continued support, Cinemaniacs! See you this Tuesday!
