Today at noon! Come join Derek and I for another round of Double Take! Since we just discussed the 35th anniversary of TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze, we thought we should naturally revisit the movie that started it all – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Once again, it’s been many years since either of us have sat down to watch the original pubescent martial artists defend New York City, but it’s been quite the ride!
So please check out the discussion! This time, we’re foregoing the “secret scene” formula and just having a general discussion about the movie, since there is so much to go over! Can’t wait!
Ben-Hur is currently having a limited theatrical release, thanks to Fathom Entertainment. Depending on your local theater, it may be through April 2nd, or longer, so check your listings and see it on the big screen if you can!
Unfortunately, my local theater is only showing it at 7PM in the upcoming days, and I personally don’t want to watch a 3 hr 45 minute epic until about 11PM on a weekday. I’m so not cool anymore! 😅
We will be discussing Ben-Hur in our next HMC: After the Credits live stream on April 7th, so get ready for that! I’ve personally only seen clips over the years, but never the whole film in its entirety! (This seems to be a theme with a lot of these anniversary re-releases 😄).
Just a heads up about physical media! I recently did a trilogy of videos that all dropped simultaneously on the eCoustics YouTube channel. They all go over some basics regarding movie discs these days, starting with the difference between DVDs, Blu-rays, and 4K Blu-rays.
It then goes right into the difference between DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD players, and finally ends with a video on where to buy physical media even in 2026! The views are pretty damn good, having just dropped last Friday, so show the trilogy some love if you get a chance! Here’s the first one to start your journey:
