HMC: Double Take Has Arrived!

“What we’ve got here is a failure to communicate.”

What’s up, Cinemaniacs! Ealan here with a relatively short and sweet newsletter to let you know about HMC: Double Take! A new segment that will be streaming on the weeks between HMC: After the Credits.

In this new segment, Derek and I will be watching a movie that we both have decided upon, and then we each choose a particular scene to break down. But the fun part is, we don’t know which scene each other is choosing! It could be the same one, or it could be two completely different scenes. So I’m excited for the surprise! 😁

After our scene breakdown from Road to Perdition a few weeks ago, we wanted to go back see what else cinematographer Conrad L. Hall has done. And wouldn’t you know it? Road to Perdition wasn’t the only film he had been a DP on that starred Paul Newman! Cool Hand Luke was, too! So the question remains: How many hard-boiled eggs can you eat in one sitting? 😉

So please join us today (Tuesday March 3rd) at 12PM PST on YouTube. That’s right! We’re testing out a new time slot for these Double Take live streams as well. Perhaps some of you can join us on your lunch break or maybe when you need a brain break from work in general. Otherwise, you can always enjoy it on-demand when you want, or listen to the audio-only version the next day on your preferred podcast platform. Woohoo!

Just a reminder that next Tuesday for HMC: After the Credits, we will be going over the brilliant 1996 Coen Brothers film Fargo. According to the JustWatch app, it is currently streaming on Prime Video. Otherwise, you can rent it or even get a physical copy for your collection finally! That’s what I did, honestly, since I was looking through my collection and was astounded that I didn’t own a copy of Fargo. What was I thinking?! 😂 So I snagged a copy at Barnes & Noble, since it was 30% off (and still is as I type this)!

I am excited to discuss this film with the homies next week.

So get excited, fellow Cinemaniacs! Join us today for Double Take, and watch Fargo in time for next week’s stream.

Have a great week, everyone!
